The Benisanet (with only one s), was a cargo hull, that did the Barcelona-Bilbao route and also had some passengers. Currently, however, it is sunk in the Cantabric Sea. It was property of the company Erkimia de Flix (formerly Cros), and its name was due to the fact that at that time the president of the company was the neighbor of our town, Mr Francesc Ripoll Fortuño; who was president of the Electrochemical Society Flix (SEQF) during the 40s and 50s of the 20th century.
